Nov 9, 2007Tragedy hit close to home Oct. 29 for Highlanders. Ears perked up at the tone of the announcer’s voice during the daily morning prayers. To the surprise of many, the daily alms were held in memory of their peers at Marian Central Catholic, two Algonquin teenagers, Alexander Grys, 14, and Taylor Wozniak, 17, who both perished Oct. 27 in a devastating car crash in McHenry.

Oct 29, 2007Upon driving into Montini Sept. 26, a person would not guess that something extraordinary was about to occur that day. Montini was hosting a special event in Chicago known as the walkathon. Montini’s walkathon is a 6.2K walk along the lakeshore to raise money in a different way for the school.

Oct 18, 2007As the sun went down during the first two weekends of October, the curtain rose in the theater of St. Daniel Hall at Benet Academy, where the drama troupe presented not one but two plays. “The Woman in Black” opened Oct. 4 and ran until Oct. 6, while “Radio T.B.S.” took its turn from Oct. 11 to Oct. 13.
